MCA ARCHITECTURE PLANNING INTERIORS, PAYROLL MASTERS, VANDERTOOLEN ASSOCIATES UNITE INSTALLING A 69 KILOWATT SOLAR ENERGY SYSTEM IN NAPA

Napa, CA (December 12, 2007) - MCA Architecture Planning Interiors, Payroll Masters and vanderToolen Associates, in partnership with SPG Solar, Inc., announced today the completion of a 69 kW roof-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) powered energy system at their headquarters in Napa. The energy gathered by the solar panels offsets 127,800 lbs. of carbon dioxide that would have been emitted into the atmosphere annually by a fossil fuel power plant. This is equivalent to removing 13 passenger cars off the road, or preventing 135 barrels of oil from being burned each year. It would require 158 acres of rainforest to absorb this much carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. The solar power generated is enough energy to provide power for 24 average sized homes. We will be dedicating the solar system on
December 18, 2007 at 4:00 PM, Napa's Mayor Jill Techel will be there to help commission the system.

"MCA Architecture is a proponent of energy saving design and construction; we are participating in this project to be part of the solution. Our portion of the photovoltaic solar system is designed to meet approximately one half of our annual electrical requirements. We encourage all individuals and industry leaders to participate and invest in renewable energy technologies", Stephen R. Cuddy, AIA - Principal Architect of MCA Architecture

The sun powered system is comprised of 384 solar panels and two 30 kW power inverters. The solar panels are tilted to maximize cooling airflow over the top and bottom surfaces, lowering electrical resistance and improving system efficiency. Tilting the panels also sheds airborne dust, promoting the collection of photons from the sun by staying clean.

"I am very happy that we made the decision to install a solar photovoltaic power generating system. As a business owner, I appreciate the cost savings over the long haul. As an inhabitant of this planet, I appreciate my responsibility to do my part to conserve our resources and minimize my impact where I can", David Wildhagen, President and CEO, Payroll Masters

The energy generated is expected to save the building $18,000 a year offseting roughly 75% of the meter's annual energy needs, and sets in place a significant price hedge against future utility rate increases. Under California's Net Energy Metering program, the excess solar generated electricity will be sold back to the grid during the many hot, sunny days, and then uses accumulated credits at night and in rainy periods. This eliminates the need to purchase the utility's most expensive peak electricity. With a 25 year panel degradation warranty, and an expected lifetime of over 40 years, the system will provide virtually free electricity long after it pays for itself.

"As a landscape architectural firm that's involved in projects which promote energy conservation and efficiency it only made sense for vTA to convert our office to take advantage of solar technology which further strengthens our commitment to minimizing vTA's carbon footprint on the environment", Phil vanderToolen, ASA - Principal

"We commend MCA Architecture Planning Interiors, Payroll Masters and vanderToolen Associates for their environmental stewardship in the Napa community. Not only will they generate clean, renewable energy, but their system will bring them huge savings over the next 25 years, and demonstrate to the Napa community that solar is both a responsible and economic solution to California's energy demand",  Dan Thompson, President and CEO, SPG Solar, Inc.

Members of the press are invited to the dedication event December 18, 2007 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Event location: Payroll Masters, 855 Bordeaux Way, Suite 170, Napa, CA 94559.
