USCIS Employer Guide, New Form I-9 Available at I-9 Central
The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has made a revised and updated Handbook for Employers, Form M-274, available for download at it’s employer immigration information clearinghouse webpage, I-9 Central.
You’ll find other useful resources at I-9 Central, like the I-9 Employment Verification Form (Rev. 11/16/2016). Employers were required to begin using Form I-9 Rev. 11/16/2016 exclusively for employment verification as of Jan. 22, 2017.
Federal law requires that every employer who recruits, refers for a fee, or hires an individual for employment in the U.S. must complete Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification. Form I-9 will help you verify your employee’s identity and employment authorization.
