Cash Back for Working Californians

Did you know there is a new cash back tax credit available to working Californians for the first time this tax season? The California Earned Income Tax Credit (CalEITC) mimics the federal EITC, but is available for workers with a lower income.

If you have employees who made less than $13,870 in 2015, they may qualify for the CalEITC. The average credit amount for the CalEITC is $900. This boost in their refund could mean a lot to your employees. Help us tell them about it!

Encourage your employees to:

  1. Find out if they are eligible for the state and/or federal EITC with the CalEITC4Me Calculator, available in English, Spanish, and Chinese (Mandarin) at CalEITC4Me.org/earn-it.
  2. Find no-cost tax assistance near them with the Free Tax Prep Finder at CalEITC4Me.org/get-it.

You can also download and print this bilingual 11×17 CalEITC informational poster to post in your break room.

This tax season, make sure your workers and employees Know It, Earn It, and Get It! Learn more about the EITC by visiting CalEITC4Me.org.
